The short-term vacation rental market has consumed a huge share of the housing stock. What’s left gets snapped up fast, passed around by word of mouth, or buried under stacks of applications on platforms that weren’t designed with this community in mind. Teachers, nurses, tradespeople, restaurant workers, the people who make Cape Cod actually function - a lot of them are getting squeezed out. Or they’re driving hours every day because they can’t find anything closer.
We know we’re not going to solve the whole thing. But we thought we could at least make the part we understand - connecting the right owner with the right renter - a lot less painful.
YRRBO is a private listing platform built specifically for year-round rentals on Cape Cod. No vacation stays. No Airbnb-style booking. Just owners who have a property to rent long-term and renters who need one.
Owners create a listing and set their own terms. Renters create a profile so owners can see who’s asking. When both sides are interested, we connect them directly - name, phone, email - and get out of the way. No middleman taking a cut of the rent. No algorithm deciding who gets to see what. No bait-and-switch.
We want to grease the cogs. Remove the friction. Make a process that is currently stressful, opaque, and exhausting into something that’s at least a little bit calmer and cleaner for everyone involved.
We built this for the community, not for scale. We’re not trying to be Zillow. We’re not trying to be the biggest housing platform on the East Coast. We just want YRRBO to be the place Cape Cod landlords and tenants trust to connect with each other - honestly and without drama.
That means keeping the process simple. Being transparent about how the platform works. Treating both owners and renters like adults who can handle a straightforward conversation. And staying focused on Cape Cod, where we actually know the towns, the seasons, and the specific flavor of chaos that is finding housing here in the off-season.
